Rip Smock In WWII

by Tex on June 6, 2009

Here’s a group of great old black and white photos of my Dad during World War II in the Marshall Islands. Rip was an Aviation Electrician in the United States Navy in Carrier Aircraft Service Unit 35 and spent most of his tour of duty in the South Pacific. There is no doubt that we owe a debt of gratitude to those brave young men who risked their lives to ensure our freedom.

This is CASU is a great online article written in 1942 about the Carrier Aircraft Service Units roll in World War 2.
